About Cherokee – the airfield hut
Easter Airfield is pleased to be able to offer Cherokee, our new airfield hut.
This is an off-grid hut set on our 21-acre airfield, (900m x 20m 06-24) so you can fly in and park your aircraft right next to your accommodation, offering a fantastic addition to a cross country flight to the Highlands.
Free landings for the duration of your stay!
The hut has everything you need to get away from it all. Sleeping 2 people in twin beds, it has en-suite facilities and a gas hob. The hut is off-grid so power is limited from the solar/wind/battery system so don’t bother bringing your hairdryer & curling tongs!
Easter Airfield is only a mile from the beach at Balintore, where the Mermaid of the North overlooks the Cromarty Firth and local facilities are available, including the Balintore Inn.
Other close attractions are Anta pottery which is next door and has a lovely cafe, the new Toulvaddie Distillery which Is being built nearby, the Glenmorangie distillery & visitor centre is 9 miles to the north
and the Dalmore distillery & visitor centre is 14 miles to the west.
Easter is also just 6 miles from the Nigg ferry to Cromarty on the Black Isle which runs during the summer months. When the ferry is running, a pleasant detour off the North Coast 500 route leaving Inverness would be head to Chandonry point at Fortrose to see the famous Moray Firth dolphins, have a bite to eat in Cromarty then over to Nigg on the ferry and spend a couple of days in the hut. The NC500 can be re-joined just 5 miles north of Easter.
Hope to see you when you take the opportunity for a unique stay on the Peninsula, with or without an aircraft!
