About Meikle Ferry Station

On the edge of the Peninsula, before you cross the Dornoch bridge, 'Meikle Ferry Station' is an extensively renovated former railway station of over 150 years of age that was active for only 5 years, between 1864 & 1869.

The property has been extensively renovated and modernised to create a complex which houses a café / restaurant, gift shop and accommodation. Comprising of a four Bedroom self-catering property and a two bedroom flat.

The Café / Restaurant provides full table service for up to 60 covers and is both family and dog friendly. The food offerings focus on Traditional Scottish fare and Home Baking. Our food is prepared using locally sourced and seasonal produce wherever possible. Our menus also offer a selection of Vegetarian and Vegan choices, recognising that these areas are often neglected by some restaurants.

More recently we have added a Beer Garden with outdoor seating for those warmer Summer days.

At Meikle Ferry Station a warm welcome awaits.
