The Seaboard Villages
Hilton, Balintore and Shandwick are three small pretty villages on the Moray Firth coastline, on the eastern stretch of the Peninsula, collectively known as the Seaboard villages.
Hilton (or Hilton of Cadbol to give its full title) is the most northerly of the villages famous for the Hilton of Cadbol Pictish stone, following a sculpture trail south brings you to the middle village of Balintore with its picturesque harbour and the Mermaid of the North and then on to the final village of Shandwick and its award-winning sandy beach.
Parking spaces are abundant in the villages and there is easy access from the area to many local historical and Pictish sites.
You really will be captivated by this delightful corner of Ross-shire.
